Will I get a ticket?
We do not issue printed or e-tickets. For open days, please make your way to Gatton Hall where your name will be on the welcome desk. For Forest School please go to the Gatton Trust Classroom, and for Trails and Tales go to the Cabin. You will be notified of the meeting point for workshops.
Can I buy tickets on the door?
Yes, we do accept payment at the entrance for open days and special events, although it is cheaper to buy online. Once we reach capacity, we are unable to accept walk-ins. Forest School, Trails and Tales and workshops must be pre-booked.
How do I get to Gatton Park?
Our address is Gatton Park, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 0TW. We share an entrance with the Royal Alexandra and Albert School. We have plenty of free carparking spaces. To help the environment, we request you car-share when possible. Redhill train station is a 2.5 mile taxi ride from Gatton Park with frequent services to London, Gatwick and other stations. Merstham Station is a 1.5 mile taxi ride, but train service/taxi availability is better at Redhill. There are bike racks available at Gatton Park and we would encourage you to cycle.
Are tickets refundable?
We are not able to offer refunds on tickets. However, if you are unable to make an event, we will endeavour to change the booking to a later date. Please note, this cannot be guaranteed. Email us at events@gatton-park.org.uk
Can I visit the park at any time?
Gatton Park shares a site with the Royal Alexandra and Albert School and for safeguarding reasons, visitors are not permitted at Gatton Park outside of paid-for open days, or pre-booked children’s events or workshops. This includes during school holidays.
Is Gatton Park suitable for children in buggies?
Much of the site is suitable for pushchairs, although there are some steep slopes and uneven paths. Children’s events take place in pushchair-friendly parts of the park.
Is Gatton Park accessible?
There is limited accessibility for wheelchairs in the parkland and gardens due to steep hills and some uneven paths. Parts of the garden such as the parterre and orchard are accessible. Golf buggy tours are available for those who are unable to manage Gatton’s steps and slopes; please book at the entrance. Gatton Hall tearoom is fully accessible. We have disabled toilets in Gatton Hall. Two carers are admitted free of charge, accompanying visitors whose disability necessitates their support.
Is there disabled parking?
We have parking close to Gatton Hall, included designated disabled parking. Please speak to one of our parking volunteers when you arrive.
Can I get something to eat and drink at Gatton Park?
On open days, Gatton Hall is open for the sale of refreshments including tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We also sell cake supplied by Chalk Hills Bakery. These can be consumed in the hall or taken away. Please advise the café team if you have any allergies.
Is there anything else on sale?
We usually have a plant sale at open days, selling plants grown in our greenhouses. We also have a small selection of seasonal products such as greeting cards, bird boxes and other items.
How can I learn about Gatton’s rich history?
On most open days we offer guided tours run by our volunteer guides. These are free. Please book when you arrive.
Are dogs allowed?
We welcome dogs at Gatton Park on open days, but they must be kept on leads at all times. We ask that you clear up after your dog. You cannot bring dogs to Forest School or Trails and Tales.
Can I bring a picnic?
You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds during open days. All we ask is that you clear up your litter. It is not possible to bring your own food or picnics to Forest School, Trails and Tales and workshops. BBQs are not permitted at any time.
What discount cards do you accept?
We welcome 2-1 Gardeners’ World cards at open days, but not Gatton Country Fair or special events. When booking online, book one ticket and show the card at the entrance to admit the second person.
Is it possible to organise a visit to Gatton Park outside of open days?
We can arrange private visits for organised groups, although minimum numbers apply. Please email us at events@gatton-park.org.uk to discuss.
How much is an annual pass to visit Gatton Park and when can I use it?
We sell individual annual passes for £30, and family passes (two adults and 2 children) for £40. Annual passes can be used on open days and events held on the first Sunday of the month, including the Gatton Country Fair, but not on special events held on other days. How can I get involved?
Volunteers are vital to the running of Gatton Park. There are plenty of opportunities to work in the gardens, parkland or greenhouses, to get involved in our educational activities or to help at events and open days.
